A small hydropower plant sited in the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India at an elevation of about 10,000 feet.
The plant delivers reliable clean energy in a remote area and reduces emissions by about 23,000 tonnes a year. That’s the equivalent of taking 8,000 British cars off the road.
The plant was designed to have a minimal impact on its surrounding environment so that not a single tree was felled during its construction. The plant’s owners also work with village representatives to invest in projects that benefit the local community such as supplying solar powered lighting and repairing a vital local irrigation channel.
