<leftcopytop>Scientific evidence suggests that climate change has already caused deaths, crop losses and poverty around the World and the situation is set to get worse.<br /><br />With Barclaycard Breathe, it was important to us to put money into measures that worked. To that end, we were as careful about choosing how to invest as we would be if we were investing for financial gain.</leftcopytop>

<leftparabottom>We're in this Together is a coalition of well-known companies committed to helping everyone cut CO2 emissions. Launched on 23rd April 2007, its specific goal is to help every UK household reduce emissions by one tonne – a total of around 24 million tonnes over the next three years. This is more than the combined household emissions of Scotland and Wales. The campaign’s website will aggregate the achievements of all member partners in real time. Site users will be encouraged to undertake certain key actions and shown how they can add up to the one tonne target. Other founder members include: B&Q, British Gas, Marks & Spencer, 02, More Than, Sky and Tesco.</leftparabottom>

<para1>With Barclaycard Breathe, 0.5% of everything you spend goes to PURE, an environmental charity that we strongly believe is getting it right. Together, we’re supporting a range of projects that deliver immediate benefit and showcase models for future action.

We all know small changes such as turning appliances off and not filling the kettle more than you need can make a difference. But if the energy we used was clean in the first place, it would be even better. The projects PURE supports help the UK migrate to cleaner energy and help developing countries leapfrog straight to it. The idea is that, in developing countries, we can prevent ‘dirty’ energy from being implemented, while at home we need to work to cure the energy problems we already have.</para1>
